In this round of photography inspiration, we’re looking at the art of self-portraiture!
Self-portraiture is something that can enable a photographer to express themselves and their artistic vision without the sometimes intimidating need for a model. It’s what young photographer, Kyle Thompson started doing when he created a series of beautifully surreal images using himself as the subject.
His unbridled imagination and the rawness of the environments he shoots himself in, create a series of stunning images that have inspired us to look into creating our own self-portraiture project. Sadly, we can’t all be as talented AND perfectly photogenic as Kyle, but we will see what our imagination can come up with! We will post the results later in the year when the project is complete, but in the meantime, enjoy getting lost in Kyle Thompson’s bewildering photography:
