Every now and then we like to share what inspires us, and today we came across the work of Russian mother, Elena Shumilova. Elena only really began to get into photography in early 2012 but her absolutely stunning imagery would make you think she was a seasoned pro. As a portrait photographer, she really knows how to spot a moment of magic and translate it into a frozen image.
During hazy dawns and golden dusks, Elena captures the most beautiful images you can imagine of her two young boys who are often seen enjoying the nature of their home. The series of images takes us through the seasons to witness her children encompassed in delicate flakes of snow to being bathed in warm summer light
Speaking to BoredPanda, Elena explains that her images are a result of intuition and inspiration:
I largely trust my intuition and inspiration when I compose photos. I get inspired mainly by my desire to express something I feel, though I usually cannot tell exactly what that is
With an aesthetic style that seems rustic and magical, we are inspired to go home and capture our own loved ones in the same enchanting way the Elena does. In the meantime, grab a cup of tea and have a look at Elena’s beautiful work whilst you sink into a big warm blanket of feel good.
