Shooting People with the Channel 4 Alpha Fund

Here at ShotBox Studios, though our obvious passions are for photography and fashion, we also love film. This is probably most noticeable in the fashion shoots we do out on location. Here we often draw upon cinematic inspiration to create dramatic images with a narrative that extends beyond just showing a beautiful model in beautiful clothes. You can check out one of our favourite on location shoots HERE

So, with our love of film, we went along to a networking night held by Shooting People –an international networking organisation dedicated to the support and promotion of independent filmmaking. Shooting People have recently partnered up with the bigwigs at Channel 4 to help promote their Alpha Fund tour and as a result, Channel 4’s Avi Grewal was present to talk about the opportunities available to talented new filmmakers.

Channel 4 are looking for emerging writers, directors and anyone else with a great new idea who would like to see it transformed into a broadcast quality film or programme. Channel 4’s Alpha Fund can provide £1k to £250k of investment to the most creative and diverse ideas no matter what it’s subject matter or stage of development. All they are looking for is a unique idea that has currently not been explored by UK film and TV and presents a great opportunity to create some truly innovative content.

For more information about the Alpha Fund and how Channel 4 might be able to help you bring your idea to life, head to http://www.channel4.com/info/commissioning/4producers/creative-diversity
